JUNE - 2022 CVPR

Hi Everyone! A review of CVPR 2022 the most prestigious computer vision conference is HERE!
LG AI Research published a total of 7 papers including an independent research paper at the Computer Vision and Pattern Recognition (CVPR) 2022 held at the Morial Convention Center in New Orleans, LA - the birthplace of Jazz from 6/19/2022 to 6/24/2022.
A notable achievement was that LG AI Research’s independent paper (L-Verse: Bidirectional Generation Between Image and Text) got accepted as an Oral Session paper!
In addition, aside from having publications,, LG AI Research had an expo booth for three days to promote the computer vision research of The LG Group’s subsidiaries as well to secure future talents. It seemed that a lot of people weren’t satisfied with virtual conferences due to the COVID pandemic. Many researchers attended the conference from all over the world and there were about 9,000 attendees including 460 researchers from South Korea. As you can see, the venue was filled with computer vision researchers.
At the booth, 6 subsidiaries from The LG Group including LG AI Research, LG Electronics, LG Display, LG Energy Solution, LG Uplus and LG CNS held technology demos to promote their research results and how they solved challenging problems they faced in the industry.
We, the Talent Relations Team, actively promoted LG AI Research to show how serious we are about our research and talent recruitment! It is vital to have advanced research infrastructures to perform good research and achieve even better outcomes. However, we believe that it is more important to secure excellent researchers to enable our researchers to collaborate with outstanding colleagues.
A quick break here! What do you think it is so specical about the photo wall above?
It was jointly created by AI and human!
The photo wall is created with the images created by EXAONE, LG AI Research’s super-giant multi-modal AI. Using the keyword “Jazz’ to represent New Orleans, EXAONE was able to create countless images for us. Attendees were able to decorate and color the wall freely and a lot of people actually participated in making the wall even more meaningful!
In the evening of the 21st, LG AI DAY was held, which was a dinner event for the LG employees and executives along with the researchers who attended the conference to network!
We had a total of 200 people attend the event and they were able to network and build the foundation for long-term relationships. With delicious food and the comfortable atmosphere, everyone talked about the latest trend in the academia and the industry.
Throughout CVPR 2022, LG AI Research wanted to show how the LG Group is focusing on computer vision research in various industries and is paying ultimate attention in securing future talents.
CVPR 2022 was a good opportunity for our employees to experience the outcome of our research in person. We look forward to meeting and talking with talents through all the upcoming conferences and will work hard to secure our position as a leading AI technology research organization!
